The Akron Mayor announced details regarding a Street Team Pilot Program following a weekend where three people died from acts of gun violence.
AKRON, Ohio -
Officials say the Street Team Pilot Program is aiming to take a proactive approach to addressing gun violence and holding violent offenders accountable. Officials say a partnership with Minority Behavioral Health Group will hire, train, and cultivate the street team. The pilot program has been put together with assistance from the Rehoboth Project, officials say, and will also involve an evaluation process to determine the growth of the program.
