An Akron bail bondsman was shot while attempting to serve a warrant Thursday night, according to Akron police.
AKRON, Ohio -
Police say a group of bail bondsmen were in the 1100 block of 7th Avenue around 8:15 p.m. to serve a warrant. After approaching the house, officials say a suspect fired multiple shots and struck a 37-year-old man at least once. The bounty hunter was transported to Summa Health Akron City Hospital in serious condition, according to police.
Several suspects were detained by police, including a 16-year-old and 18-year-old who had outstanding warrants.Police say the investigation is ongoing and investigators are working to learn more about the circumstances surrounding the incident and who fired the shots.
