Following the fatal collision between an American Airlines jet and an Army helicopter on Monday, two Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority employees were arrested and charged with leaking official airport records. The incident came after video, purportedly from an airport surveillance camera, was aired on CNN last week, offering a new visual perspective of the crash. CNN anchor Kate Bolduan introduced the footage, stating that it “appears to be surveillance video from the airport.
” Mohamed Lamine Mbengue, a 21-year-old employee from Rockville, Maryland, was charged with computer trespass for allegedly making an unauthorized copy of Airports Authority records, according to authority spokeswoman Crystal Nosal. Mbengue was taken to the Arlington County jail but subsequently released. On Sunday, another authority employee, Jonathan Savoy, a 45-year-old resident of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was arrested and charged with computer trespass. Savoy was also released pending trial. As of Monday evening, neither individual had retained legal representation. Efforts to reach Mbengue for comment were unsuccessful, and Savoy did not immediately respond to a request for comment
