, who is a champion of online safety for children, is warning about the rapid growth of artificial intelligence -- or AI-- and how it could eventually affect every aspect of our lives, including education.
she said during an assembly Thursday. "The robots are here. Our future is no longer science fiction. As leaders and parents, we must manage AI's growth responsibly. During this primitive stage it is our duty to treat A.I. as we would our own children empowering but with watchful guidance." Erika Donalds, who is the chair of America First Policy Institute’s Center for Education Opportunity, said A.I. is going to transform education by providing personalized learning for every child, especially those who need extra help. Each of these A.I. platforms can customize the way it presents information or skills to the student so it can be more efficient, and that mastery can come much faster,” Donalds told The National News Desk Jan Jeffcoat during a one-on-one interview Tuesday. Donalds said several technology CEOs have seen positive results in terms of test scores. As an example, she said students at the Alpha School in Austin who spent two hours every day with a personalized A.I. tutor improved their scores, which landed them into the top 2% across the U.S. We’re seeing result using A.I. all over the nation, including some in Florida, as well,” she said. “And that’s just going to accelerate as the technology gets more advanced.”Stay Connected
