Thompson High School’s Bradley Franklin sets a new all classes state record in the Class 7A 110-meter hurdles final at the AHSAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Gulf Shores Sports Complex. Thompson High School senior Bradley Franklin and St. Paul’s Janie Ford each established new records as the 100th AHSAA State Track and Field Championships concluded on Saturday at the Gulf Shores Sports Complex.

Coach Chris Schmidt’s Hoover teams won both the Class 7A boys’ and girls’ state titles with 156.5 and 90.5 points, respectively. Vestavia Hills was runner-up with 73 points and James Clemens had 71 in the 7A boys’ competition. Hewitt-Trussville was second with 71 points in the 7A girls’ points race. In the Class 7A girls’ 4x100-meter relay finals, Auburn, Enterprise and Foley turned in the three best times of the year. The Lady Tigers emerged with a 47.40 time – best of the season.
