The state has paused updating the number of Ohioans who have received the one-dose COVID-19 vaccine until Sept. 19. This is due to the new updated vaccines that have been recommended for use during the upcoming respiratory virus season. Previously: Aug. 29 Ohio COVID-19 update There were 258 Ohioans newly hospitalized in the last week, raising the total since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 to 153,540. A total of 13 people were admitted into the ICU, raising the total since 2020 to 15,878.
The state health department reported an additional 13 deaths from COVID-19, raising the total to 44,159.
