African coach: They will not respect us in Europe
Remo Stars' Daniel Ogunmodede has suggested that African coaches bring the knowledge they acquire in Europe back to the continent.An African coach has shared his belief that coaches from the continent are not respected in Europe, adding that they need to be treated better at home too.
This comes after George's decision to resign in June after being at the helm for just two games, in which Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw with South Africa, before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Benin in the latest round of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Ogunmodede went on to add that the best thing to do is go to Europe, even though he feels African coaches are not respected there, and then return to Africa with new knowledge so that the continent can benefit from it.
