African coach sacked for not reaching ambitious FIFA target
An Africa n manager has been sacked as national team head coach after failing to reach an ambitious FIFA rankings target.
However, Guinea are currently ranked 77th in the world and 15th in Africa, which has ultimately cost Diawara his job after he was appointed in 2021. "To ensure an effective transition and continuity in the preparation of the next deadlines, it was decided to set up a transitional board of directors responsible for the technical management of Syli A. This board of directors will be in place until at least November 2024, the period corresponding to the end of the qualifications for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
"The board will also include Mr. Charles Paquille, former assistant to the national coach, who will assume the role of coach. His proximity to the players and his understanding of the team's internal dynamics will be crucial to maintaining the team's cohesion and performance. Mr. Souleymane Camara, current coach of the Syli des joueurs locales, will also be part of this board as assistant to Mr.
