AFL calls on Hawks’ report author to appear in racism investigation

The AFL has approached the author of Hawthorn’s cultural safety review to take part in the league’s investigation of how the club conducted its contentious report.

Former Richmond player Phil Egan, who led the report that largely focused on the alleged behaviour of former Hawthorn officials Alastair Clarkson, Chris Fagan and Jason Burt, confirmed to this masthead on Tuesday that AFL legal counsel Stephen Meade had contacted him to help with the probe into how the Hawks handled the review.
