Tasmania's budget estimates kicked off with a series of damning questions about the Hobart stadium which Liberal Premier Jeremy Rockliff continues to defend.
Since announcing the $750 million precinct at Hobart's Macquarie Point, which paves the way for an AFL stadium, the Premier has beenthat now requires approval from both houses of parliament.
Mr Rockliff defended the accusation, claiming he had"kept all his colleagues informed" before signing the deal, and said stadium costs over the next four years were clearly outlined in theBut Ms White pressed further, saying:"Frankly, I don't buy it. You didn’t run it through cabinet before you signed it."
But Mr Rockliff hit back at claims he had not been prioritising other issues, reiterating the stadium would boost Tasmania's economy by providing jobs and unlocking opportunities similar to the mainland.
