Adele Roberts has admitted she was undergoing chemotherapy during her appearance on Celebrity Bake Off.
BBC Radio presenter baked alongside David Morrissey, Lucy Beaumont and Tom Daley during the series’s Stand Up 2 Cancer special.
However she did reveal when replying to a tweet that she was in fact having chemotherapy while filming the programme.in October 2021 and got the call she was cancer free from doctors in June of last year. Reacting to a tweet from a fan that praised her for her participation in the show, she responded with her shocking revelation: ‘Thank you so much Ryan! I was actually on chemo in the tent.‘I also can’t remember most of this. I know I had an amazing day… but watching it back now is so special’.
She said at the time: ‘It took me a while to pluck up the courage to call my GP at first. My symptoms seemed like things I could explain away.‘I didn’t want to be a burden to the NHS and I was embarrassed. I shouldn’t have worried.
