West’s Batman was fun and colorful, but now artist Butcher Billy has unleashed the grim antithesis to Adam West in a new piece of fanart, mashing West up with the terrifying Batman Who Laughs.
Butcher Billy, an acclaimed artist who has worked in the past with Netflix, Ubisoft and The New York Times, shared the art in a post to Instagram. The image blends the aesthetic of the Batman television show of the 1960s with the Batman Who Laughs. Cesar Romero played the Joker on Batman, and Billy has used his likeness for this horrifying hybrid. He is wearing Adam West’s classic Batman costume, covered by a leather jacket—and complete with the Batman Who Laughs' spiked headband.
