James Gunn has provided more information about Adam Warlock, who will debut in the MCU's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, portrayed by Will Poulter.
After Adam Warlock's debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the MCU's new superhero is set to have a very bright future. Will Poulter was cast as Adam Warlock, one of Marvel's most iconic, and practically all-powerful, heroes back in 2021. In Marvel Comics, Adam is created by scientists on Earth, but this origin was changed for the MCU as the High Priestess of the Sovereign was shown to have created Adam in the post-credits scenes of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to be the final adventure for the Guardians team that MCU audiences are familiar with, since this will be James Gunn's final Marvel Studios project, and Drax actor Dave Bautista has confirmed his intention to leave the MCU.
The Sovereign created Adam Warlock during Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on a quest for vengeance against the Guardians team, who stole anulax batteries from the Sovereign during the film's opening moments. The fact that Adam Warlock is "newly out of the cocoon" in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 means that he will be on a hunt for the Guardians to seek revenge, acting on the Sovereign's behalf.
Future MCU Projects Will Make Adam A Very Exciting Hero Since Adam Warlock is still fresh out of the cocoon in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, he has a long way to go before becoming the hero that audiences are familiar with from Marvel Comics.
