Temperatures plunged across Australia’s east on Wednesday morning, with several major cities recording the coldest morning of the year.
Sydney and Melbourne residents have woken up to frost on the ground and low temperatures, with other cities like Perth and Canberra also recording their coldest morning of this year.
Temperatures in Sydney hovered around 7C, while Melburnians endured a freezing start to the day with the mercury barely climbing above zero. Sky News Meteorologist Rob Sharpe said some states even had to put road weather alerts in place due to the frosty conditions.
