Abang Jo: S'wak fair to all in its mission to become high-income, developed state

KUCHING: The Sarawak government is fair to all races and religions in striving for developed status by 2030, says Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

The Premier said Sarawak was implementing its post-Covid-19 development strategy with the target of becoming an advanced, high-income state."For us, this encompasses holistic development, not only in terms of income level but also human behaviour," he said when opening the regional mosque convention here on Wednesday .

As such, Abang Johari said the state government would continue practising a policy of fairness to all. "We will defend Islam while giving room for other religions to be practised in our multicultural society.As Sarawak celebrates its 60th anniversary of independence within Malaysia this year, Abang Johari called on Muslims to consider how to pursue development over the next 60 years."One challenge the world is facing now is climate change.

"We have to find solutions to this challenge, which requires us to have the right knowledge," he said.
