Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos on Wednesday ordered an investigation into the death of a student who was found in a shallow grave in Imus.
“Papaimbestigahan kaagad natin 'to at aalamin kung ano ang mga circumstances dito. Any forms of violence na ganto ang nangyayari, namamatay, dapat paimbestigahan natid kaagad ito,” he told reporters in an ambush interview.
On Tuesday, the body of John Matthew Salilig, a student at Adamson University in Manila, was found more than a week after he was last seen alive. Biñan police said suspects whom they invited for investigation pointed to where Salilig had been buried.according to Biñan Police acting chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Virgilio Jopia.
"Maliban sa statement ng ating mga witness, nakitaan natin ng mga pasa ang biktima sa kanyang binti ,” he said.are being investigated, seven of whom took part in the Tau Gamma Phi initiation rites for Salilig, Jopia said.
