In front of 46,889 fans, the A’s beat the Rangers in their final game at the Oakland Coliseum
An A’s fan holds up a sign while walking the lower concourse during their MLB game at the Coliseum in Oakland, Calif., on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024. Today the Oakland Athletics played the Texas Rangers for their final home game in Oakland before moving to Sacramento next season. In their final game at the Coliseum following a 57-year run in The Town, the A’s, donning kelly green jerseys with “Oakland” inscribed across the chest, beat the Rangers, 3-2, in front of a crowd of 46,889 fans.
JJ Bleday was the orchestrator of the play of the afternoon in the top of the seventh inning, tracking down Carson Kelly’s line drive to left-center field with a full extension dive. The game, itself, contained flashbacks to another famous late-season contest between the A’s and Rangers.
