A winter storm warning is in effect through Monday evening for WNY. The warning is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday near Lake Ontario.Rochester, N.Y. — The snow and cold air dominated Western New York from Sunday into Monday morning.
Here's a look at what's to come. Shoveling felt like it was never going to end on Sunday and Monday morning, but luckily the bulk of the snow is over. We are still seeing some lakes effect snow in the region, but let's look at some communities and appreciate the hard you put in to make sure your driveways and sidewalks are cleaned. Webster so far saw the most amount of snow, nearly 13 inches. In Rochester, we saw nearly 9 inches, which did beat the snowfall record set back in 1979 for the day in January.We are done with heavy steady snow, but now we turn our attention to some lake flakes for Monday into Tuesday. They could bring a coating to and inch of snow in Rochester, but Wayne County could see an additional 2-4 inches. Overall, I know the snow lovers are happy!We will turn our attention from the snow to the cold. We will see the bitter cold stick around and see the winds picking up. When you have cold air and gusty winds, it will make the air feel colder. That's because the faster the wind, the quicker it will take away the heat from your body. That's why you need to cover any exposed skin when outside in conditions like these.Continuing through Tuesday, will see a little more improvements on the real feel outside but still very chill.
