Journey is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year — though only one member, guitarist Neal Schon, has been in the band that long.
The veteran rock band
Journey last played Stadium of Fire in 2015, and “we had never seen guests in the stadium so excited,” Jim Evans, the festival’s executive director, said in a statement. “People young and old danced and sang along to every word, to every song. Journey’s hits are so ingrained in our culture.” The band’s biggest hits came out between 1978 and 1983, when Steve Perry was their iconic lead singer. Those include “Wheel in the Sky,” “Lights,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Who’s Crying Now,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Open Arms,” “Separate Ways” and “Faithfully.”
