Limited-run A110 marks 50th anniversary of the marque's victory at the famous rally 🏁
We all knew that Alpine was never going to be able to enter the A110 in the WRC’s top category – that’s reserved for hatchbacks and loosely-defined SUVs – but we at least hoped it’d release some retro-inspired limited editions that hark back to its rallying days. It did just that with last year’sIf the name wasn’t enough of a giveaway, the San Remo 73 commemorates the 50anniversary of the French marque’s victory at the 1973 Sanremo rally.
The rally touches are a tad more subtle on the inside. The single-piece Sabelt bucket seats are embroidered with ‘World Champion 73’ and come with six-point harnesses for the full rally effect. You also get ‘sports pedals’, an aluminium kick plate for the passenger and a continuation of the white and black striping on the door inserts. Standard equipment gets a healthy bump, too, notably Alpine’s high performance brake kit with 320mm discs and an active sports exhaust.
It needs to be with a price tag of €89,000. UK pricing hasn’t been revealed yet, but you won’t have to wait long to find out with orders opening at 8am on 17March. Alpine’s limiting production to just 200 examples worldwide, so you’d better have your finger on the buzzer tomorrow morning.
