Scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms will continue to develop through 7 p.m. before weakening after sunset. Locally heavy downpours, gusty wind and frequent lightning will be possible with stronger storms. The changing breeze will bring seasonal temperatures and increasing rain chances this weekend. Expect rounds of rain, mainly west of the River this weekend as the northeasterly wind builds through early next week. In the tropics, Hurricane Erin will become a major hurricane this weekend with models now suggesting up to a Category 4 with wind up to 140 mph. A turn toward the north expected as Erin heads toward the Bahamas, remaining north of the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.Weekend: Partly cloudy skies early, then becoming cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms. A mild morning, with lows in the 70s to low 80s. The chance of showers and storms will be 40-70 percent with showers developing as early as noon. Afternoon highs will be in the low 90s inland, upper 80s along the beaches. Wind: Northeast then becoming east at 5-10 mph. Sunday will be a little windier with sustained winds of 10-15 mph.Next week: The onshore wind will continue to offer better rain chances for inland areas. Breezy conditions are expected Monday and Tuesday.
