Domestic violence suspect arrested after standoff outside WSP office in MonroeThe Monroe Police Department and Washington State Patrol were involved in a standoff with a domestic violence suspect outside WSP's district office on Oct. 6, 2023. Police got into a standoff with a driver outside the Washington State Patrol district office in Monroe Friday.
about the incident at 11:55 a.m., saying a suspect who fled officers is "refusing to exit their vehicle" at 16700 146th Street Southeast. The MPD asked people to avoid the area.the suspect was taken into custody and the investigation was ongoing. Trooper Kelsey Harding said officials responded to a call of domestic violence in which a victim was being chased by their abuser. Harding said she was unsure how the suspect ended up at the WSP office.
Two people were in the suspect vehicle and were not complying with officials' demands to exit, Harding said. The passenger ended up exiting the vehicle without incident and was taken into custody, Harding added.
