On tap: the B4UDIE Comedy Festival, an evening with Kevin Smith, live music and the annual Empty Bowl Project fundraiser.
The B4UDie Comedy Festival runs through the weekend with multiple shows and events in Anchorage as well as Talkeetna, Cordova and Seward. The biggest comedy festival in Alaska returns for a sixth year.
It includes dozens of comedians, from national acts like Todd Glass to the best of Alaska’s comedy scene. More than 20 individual shows are happening in Anchorage over the course of the festival at a half-dozen venues — theme shows, improv, a roast battle, a brunch show and a late-night show.Kevin Smith — filmmaker, actor, comedian and author — takes the stage in Anchorage. The Anchorage Symphony Orchestra and Anchorage Opera present this famous tragic opera by Giuseppe Verdi. Featuring director Ben Robinson and conductor Elizabeth Schulze. The dance floor will be hopping at this family event with interactive dancing, door prizes, a photo station and a dance cam connected to the big screen.
