) - A 73-year-old man was arrested Thursday after police say he exposed himself and tried to lure children into his apartment at a Mobile apartment complex.Witness describes incident A witness who lives at the apartment complex said he was walking home when he noticed a group of children gathered near Beard’s open door.
“When I turned around and looked, the guy was standing in his doorway with a plaid shirt open and he pulled out his penis and showed it to the kids and was trying to get them to come in the house,” the witness said.The witness said some of the children nearby captured video of Beard exposing himself to other kids and believes that footage was turned over to police. “There was a lot of kids out there with their phones, so I heard there’s a couple of children with video footage of it,” the witness said.A neighbor who is also a mother shared her reaction after learning what happened. “I felt sick to my stomach honestly, because what in your right mind, in broad daylight, convince you to just stand in your doorway and do that type of stuff,” the neighbor said. The witness said Dauphin Gate Apartments are full of families with young children and had a warning for parents after the incident. “Everybody has kids around here. We gonna have to take care of each other’s children out here.
