“I might be involved in a few virtual Prides as many have been cancelled. It being virtual makes me miss the noise, laughter, hugs, and kisses that come with meeting old friends and making new ones. I’ve been on many Pride Marches and I miss the good old days when we marched from Hyde Park to Brockwell Park in the ’90s. My team, Hackney, was the only ‘out’ team in our women’s league, and every mile we sang parodies about being lesbians and proud.

I’m pleased that, increasingly, the football community is policing itself, and it needs to become unacceptable to use homo/bi/transphobic language in football spaces. All of us involved in the game need to speak up and challenge it when it happens. Trans rights have come under attack lately and sport is one of the primary ways this happens.
