Michael Warren, 66, was sentenced to 90 months in prison for manufacturing and distributing fentanyl, methamphetamine, and firearms as part of a drug trafficking organization linked to Aryan prison gangs.

This photo shows a seizure of approximately 650,000 suspected fentanyl pills, two pill presses, 15.6 kilograms of suspected methamphetamine, approximately ½ kilogram of fentanyl powder, and nine firearms from one residence. Agents seized approximately 360 grams of fentanyl powder, 66 grams of suspected fentanyl pills, 10 firearms, one firearm suppressor/silencer, approximately $56,000 in U.S. currency, and multiple phones from another location and four firearms at a third location.

(Photo: FBI), A man was sentenced to 90 months in prison Friday for his role in a drug trafficking ring connected to Aryan prison gangs. Michael Warren was arrested in March 2023, when federal agents moved in following a two-year investigation of drug trafficking activities. A search of Warren’s home in December 2022 turned up two pill presses, more than 640,000 fentanyl pills, and a kilo of fentanyl powder to make thousands more. Warren also possessed 23 firearms at the stash house, according to federal prosecutors. During the case against him, authorities maintained that there was no way to gauge the potency of the pills that Warren manufactured, leading to major concerns that his drugs would to deadly consequences. We have no idea how strong they are. Sometimes there is a little bit of fentanyl in them, and sometimes there’s a ton,' said Assistant United States Attorney Zach Dillon. '(Drug producers like Warren) are not professional chemists. They have no idea how much fentanyl powder should be in any specific pill. As part of his sentencing, prosecutors successfully argued that Warren knew that many of his fentanyl pills were eventually being smuggled into prisons and consumed by Aryan prison gangs. As a result, they said he endangered the lives of inmates who likely were trying to stay clean from drugs, only to relapse behind bars. 'They’ve come off those drugs for the short while, and if they gain regain access to narcotics even leads to overdoses in our prisons,' said Dillon. In addition to manufacturing pills and storing them at his Shelton home, Warren drove to Arizona on multiple occasions to pick up methamphetamine and fentanyl from his drug trafficking organization's supplier. At 66 years old, prosecutors said Warren was among the oldest people in western Washington to be convicted for the production of fentanyl. Drug dealing is a young man’s game. You would normally see defendants much younger and certainly not in their 60s,' noted Dillon. 'Certainly, age doesn’t stop you from being able to distribute narcotics. As part of the overall case against Warren's drug trafficking organization, ringleader Bryson Gill entered a guilty plea Friday to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and conspiracy to commit money laundering, and is scheduled for sentencing on May 9, 2025
