SAN DIEGO — A collision between a motorcycle and a car on Saturday afternoon left one man dead and a woman with life-threatening injuries, officials said.The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. at Camino Del Rio North and Ward Road. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 60-year-old man was driving his 2015 Subaru Outback eastbound on Camino Del Rio North in the number two lane.
The motorcycle then collided with the driver’s side of the Subaru. The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The female passenger on the motorcycle suffered a fractured pelvis, a fractured leg, and a collapsed lung. Her injuries are considered life-threatening. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.The San Diego Police Department's Traffic Division officers are handling the investigation and expect to remain on the scene for several hours.
