Inspired by Japan’s unique ability to fuse tradition with innovation, Bear_Lenciaga explores the intersection of cutting-edge 3D printing technology and the playful, expressive spirit of kawaii and cool culture. Each piece reflects the dynamic energy of Harajuku—where self-expression and craftsmanship meet. As a relatively new creative medium, 3D printing allows us to reimagine what fashion and objects can be. Unlike traditional Japanese design rooted in centuries-old techniques, our work embraces the possibilities of digital creation while honoring the thoughtful, detail-driven aesthetics that define Japan’s cultural identity. Through Bear_Lenciaga, we aim to bring a fresh perspective to the Japanese creative landscape—one that celebrates individuality, experimentation, and the evolving relationship between technology and culture. We hope our work inspires others to create fearlessly and discover new ways to express themselves. 3Dプリントは、頭の中の構想やドローイングだけでは掴みきれなかった曖昧なイメージを、精密かつ具体的な“物体”として現実に送り出す。アイデアが単なる「図」や「コンセプト」に留まらず、重さを持ち、空間を占め、他者と共有される“現実”へと変わる瞬間である。3D printing transforms vague images—too elusive to be fully captured by ideas or drawings—into precise, tangible objects in the real world. It marks the moment when an idea ceases to be merely a “diagram” or “concept” and instead gains weight, occupies space, and becomes a shared reality with others. This is not the act of a factory or an atelier, but a process of summoning form from data—a realm close to every human being. I interpret this technology not as a tool for replication or mass production, but as one that returns us to the fundamental question of “why create?”—seeking uniqueness and variation. Rather than tracing a predetermined “correct” shape, it is an attempt to implement unknown structures and sensations into this world. The works presented before us do not offer finalized answers to this question; rather, they seem to embody the question itself in the form of objects.I run tHE GALLERY HARAJUKU in the hope that it will be the first step for artists to start selling their paintings.
