It’s time to take the bills out of your mailbox and add a few boxes of food! Saturday, May 11 marks the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive from the National Association of Letter Carriers.
MONTGOMERY , Ala. - United States Postal Service mail carriers across the country collectMore than 1.9 billion pounds of food have been collected and donated over since the annual event started more than 30 years ago!
Taking part in the food drive is easy. Just leave some non-perishable food items in a bag by your mailbox and your letter carrier will do the rest! If you’re looking for suggestions on what to donate, it’s recommended you include items like cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meals , 100% juice, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned protein , and beans.
