Meeriam Rosaline Edward Paul memohon perintah interim bagi memperoleh akses tanpa syarat ke atas Samy Vellu dan mahkamah mengeluarkan perintah membayar nafkah RM25,000 kepadanya setiap bulan. Kiri ialah peguam RSN Rayer.
Peguam RSN Rayer yang mewakili wanita itu, Meeriam Rosaline Edward Paul, 60, memaklumkan perkara tersebut kepada pemberita selepas kes didengar di depan Hakim Hashim Hamzah yang kemudian menetapkan 31 Mac ini untuk membuat keputusan. “Mereka memohon prosiding ditangguhkan dengan alasan telah memfailkan permohonan di Mahkamah Tinggi Kuala Lumpur bagi menentukan keupayaan mental Samy Vellu dan kami membantah dengan mengatakan keupayaan mental beliau dalam keadaan baik.
Sementara itu, Ramesh berkata, mereka memaklumkan kepada mahkamah saman difailkan Vell Paari tidak ada asas untuk menentukan kesihatan mental bapanya kerana Samy Vellu melantik peguam Prem Ramachandran untuk mewakilinya.
