The National Fire Protection Association is highlighting the fire risks posed by lithium-ion batteries in everyday devices and sharing tips to keep homes safe. from Oct. 5-11, “Charge into Fire Safety, Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” focuses on safe use, charging, and disposal of these batteries.
Only purchase products with a nationally recognized safety listing. Check packaging and labels for certification marks to ensure devices meet safety standards, especially when shopping online.Use the charger provided by the manufacturer, follow the instructions, and charge devices on a hard surface.
