St. John said the incident began when Razo “attacked” a friend of Venegas. St. John said Venegas was initially defending his friend, but he said Venegas later shot Razo in the back as he tried to flee, so couldn’t argue self-defense.“Ruddy, he’s a good kid,” St. John said. “He just lost it that day. It’s sad for him, and it’s sad for the victim’s family.”
