The Vistiq electric SUV's side window graphic will also disappear for 2027.After six years of putting numbered badges on the rear ends of its vehicles that roughly corresponded with torque outputs, Cadillac is ditching this nomenclature starting with the 2027 model year. An order guide for the 2027 Cadillac Vistiq confirms this change, which was first reported by GM Authority, stating that this electric SUV's '900' badge will be removed for the new model year. The guide also notes a few other design changes, such as the removal of the 'Mondrian' graphic on the Vistiq's rearmost side window .These number badges were first introduced for 2020 model-year Cadillacs. The automaker said it was meant to give customers 'a clear understanding of the power differences across the lineup,' but we didn't think it was so clear. The numbers themselves—ranging from 350 on lower-powered four-cylinder versions of the brand's sedans and SUVs and up to 1000 for the Escalade IQ's electric powertrain—corresponded to newton-meters of torque rather than the more commonly used pound-feet measurement. Cadillac's generous rounding, too, made the numbers rather arbitrary.These badge deletions will be rolled out across 2027 model-year vehicles. The Vistiq, for instance, will drop the '900' badge but will continue to say 'E4' to notate its electric powertrain and all-wheel drive. For gas-powered vehicles, Cadillac will still use the 'T' designation to denote turbocharged models. 2027 will also see the 'Mondrian' graphic on the rearmost side windows of the Vistiq removed, but it's unclear if that change will also apply to the Optiq, which wears its own window graphic.➡️ Skip the lot.
