Team USA racked up a few more medals to their Paris Olympic count, NBC News' Tom Llamas recaps the day including Katie Ledecky's record-breaking performance and the U.S. men's basketball team's victory over South Sudan.
The first of the track and field events have kicked off. In Race Walking, the men's 20km has already finished.
More medals will also be handed out in the pool. Team USA's Lilly King and Kate Douglass race in the Women's 200m Breaststroke and Regan Smith and Alex Shackell are in the 200m Butterfly. Schauffele has already won the PGA Championship and The Open this season, becoming the first player since 2018 to win two majors in the same year. Fellow Americans Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, who is not at the Olympics, took The Masters and the U.S. Open respectively.
