He followed up his MVP-winning, 62-home-run 2022 season with 37 home runs in 106 games last year — a campaign cut short due to a toe injury that held him out for 50-plus games.
Over in Queens, Alonso is projected to have a third-straight 40-plus home-run season as he continues to assault the Mets’ power-hitting record books. No player in Major League Baseball has hit more home runs than Alonso since he entered the league in 2019 and the recent acquisition of JD Martinez will help the slugger get some more pitches to hit in 2024. At +700, Alonso is the third favorite to lead the league in homers.
Despite not hitting more than 35 home runs in a season, Soto is projected to have a big year in the Bronx after being acquired by the Yankees in a blockbuster deal with the San Diego Padres this offseason.
