Hyundai is recalling over 12,000 Santa Fe crossovers in the United States due to faulty transmission software
Hyundai is recalling more than 13,000 2024 Santa Fe crossovers in the United States and Canada. The vehicles are equipped with faulty transmission software that can damage the gearbox and enable the crossover to rollaway when in park. Hyundai is aware of at least 45 incidents in the United States alone. Hyundai is on a roll in more ways than one as the company is recalling 12,349 Santa Fe crossovers that could rollaway while in park.

That’s an alarming number, but the automaker said the issue hasn't caused any injuries, crashes or fires in the United States. Since this is a software issue, the fix is pretty straightforward as dealers will install updated transmission control software.
