Officers were called to the 100 block of Future Drive about 1:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired. There, they found the child dead by the front door of the home, McManus said.Police believe the house was targeted in retaliation for a prior incident, McManus said, though he would not expand on what that incident was.
There were five children, ages 2 to 6, in the home at the time of the shooting. No other injuries were reported. “This is a pathetic act. The person who did this took no consideration as to who was hurt as a result,” McManus said. “Absolutely pathetic.”
