MAPLE HEIGHTS , Ohio - Maple Heights police said officers are investigating after two women were shot outside the Cuyahoga County Public Library.Officers said several people called 911 to report two women arguing, and at least one caller said one of the women was armed with a gun.Both of the women shot are receiving treatment at MetroHealth, according to police.
Student Aaliyah Kimble tells 19 News, “I thought libraries are supposed to be a safe place and I don‘t even know if there were kids in there. If there were kids in there that’s even crazier.” Parent Lamar Kimble says unfortunately the gun violence crisis on the streets is happening everywhere, “To hear there was a double shooting up here is crazy. I’ve lived here almost my whole life and it seems like the violence is just everywhere.”19 News has learned the library will remain closed on Thursday.
