Authorities say two Pennsylvania State Troopers and a civilian were all killed in the crash. None of the victims have been identified at this time, but authorities tell FOX 29's Kelly Rule that both troopers are believed to have worked out of Troop K in Philadelphia. Sources tell FOX 29's Steve Keeley that the troopers were assisting a civilian who was walking on the highway when were struck by a passing vehicle. Another source told Keeley that state police had conducted a traffic stop involving the driver of the striking vehicle a short time before the crash. The source says that stop was cut short due to the call for the civilian seen walking on the roadway.
State police are expected to release more details about the crash during a press conference at 11 a.m. Monday.
