One victim sustained serious injuries. The other suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics took two people to the hospital on Monday after a stabbing outside of a high school in Northeast Los Angeles County. It happened just before 1:55 p.m. in the 10000 block of Plainview Avenue, according to the LA Police Department. Detectives believe the four suspects connected to the stabbing drove off in a four-door vehicle. The LA Fire Department said they transported one 17-year-old boy to the hospital in a serious condition.
Verdugo Hills High School Principal Arturo Barcenas shared several messages with parents and students in the wake of the incident. He said that the campus was placed on lockdown at 2:08 p.m., at which point officials learned of the stabbing. Lockdown was lifted at around 3:50 p.m. 'Families of students involved in the incident have been notified. Our students and staff remain safe, and our campus remains open for instruction,' Barcenas' last message of the day said.
