Two people are dead and seven were seriously injured after a vehicle collision Sunday evening on a two-lane highway east of Fairbanks.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -
According to Alaska State Troopers, a man and a woman were declared dead at the scene of a head-on collision, which impacted three vehicles near the beginning of Chena Hot Springs Road. Chena Hot Springs Road, which the Alaska DOT said was icy as of early Monday morning, was closed near mile 4 while the crash was investigated.
Troopers said people in each vehicle were injured; seven people were taken to Fairbanks with injuries, two of which were later taken via LifeMed Alaska to Anchorage with life-threatening injuries.
