Police investigators on Tuesday appealed for help from the public, seeking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has more information
Brighton police on Tuesday announced that they’re holding Christian Pasillas, who was booked into the Adams County Jail after receiving treatment in a hospital. The identity of the victim hasn’t been released.
The crash before dawn Saturday likely involved alcohol and excessive speed, Brighton police investigators said in a news release. A BMW sedan moving south on Highway 85 near the intersection with East 144th Avenue crashed into the back of a Jeep Cherokee, police said. Both vehicles caught fire. The driver of the BMW fled from the burning wreckage on foot. Police shut down the highway. Adams County Sheriff deputies with dogs found Pasillas about a mile from the crash after a resident called and reported seeing a suspicious person, police said.
