Cloudy today with a winter mix.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Happy Thanksgiving out there! We have a damp one this year. Travel impacts this morning and into the afternoon with rain and snow in the area. No snow accumulation is expected. Temperatures only around 40 degrees in most towns for a high today.
The big story the next several days coming up will be an extended period of very cold air settling into the area. Significant lake effect snow will be tracking through the area starting tonight. Lake effect snow and snow squalls is forecast across the Great Lakes through Monday at least. A dangerous situation is developing for travel coming up. A big upper level low pressure is setting up over James Bay in Canada. This will force that very cold air to spill into the Great Lakes Region.
A west steering wind will put the heavy snow squalls at first east of Cleveland later tonight and tomorrow. Several inches of snow is forecast where squall persist. Temperatures by morning tomorrow will be in the upper 20s. The high tomorrow 30 to 35 degrees.
