Texas DPS troopers stopped a group of 176 migrants at Eagle Pass. The group comprised SIAs from Afghanistan and other countries. Eighty-five individuals faced criminal trespassing charges, while family units and minors were transferred to Border Patrol.

Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers intercepted a large group of 176 migrants near Eagle Pass , Texas , crossing from Mexico. The group included 11 Special Interest Aliens (SIA) from Afghanistan. A total of 85 migrants were charged with criminal trespassing under Texas state law, while family units and unaccompanied minor children were not prosecuted and handed over to the Border Patrol.

The Border Patrol also apprehended a group of 289 migrants, including seven SIAs from Iran, in the same area. This trend is increasing concerns over national security and the root causes of migration, such as violence in Sinaloa, Mexico
