Marvel’s villain alterations can be controversial.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Across the many projects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and other Marvel Comics-centric movie adaptations, several controversial changes have been made to the iconic villains under Marvel's banner. Since the Marvel brand began in the late 1930s, the franchise has expanded beyond belief.
9 Scarlet Witch’s Fall To Madness Was Barely Shown One of the more surprising villains of the MCU's Phase 4 was Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Phase 4 began with WandaVision, Marvel Studios' first step into the world of TV.
The change between Kro and Ikaris was likely made to make the film more compelling. Ikaris' plight of simply following the orders of his creator Arishem certainly made for a morally gray villain and gave the family dynamic of the Eternals more meaning. Some had to go against Ikaris while others remained indifferent and the rest fought against him.
