A man was fatally shot at a gas station early Wednesday and two people were injured.
One man was fatally shot early Wednesday at a gas station and his presumed friend suffered a gunshot wound after assaulting a woman who was with the shooter, according to Houston Police Department officials.
From surveillance video, police saw a red car, with the shooter driving, pulling into the gas station parking lot at 11200 Bissonnet Street around 12:30 a.m. and a woman getting out, Lt. Ronnie Willkens told On Scene reporters. Then, a man came out of the gas station store and walked over to the red car, straight to the driver's side window. The driver punched the man one time in the face before taking out a pistol and shooting at the man while still inside the car, Willkens said.
Shortly after the assault, the red car pulled back into the parking lot and picked up the woman, before leaving in the same direction in which the man had fled. “We see him leave in the video and go down the road and we believe he most likely tracked down the man who was punching the female and there was a shooting over there. Again, that hasn't been confirmed,” Willkens said.
The man who ran from the gas station was found down the road from the gas station with a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital.
