At least 49 illnesses have been reported across 10 states, including one death, according to the FDA.

Published: Oct. 23, 2024, 8:04 a.m.The CDC, FDA, USDA, FSIS, and health officials in multiple states are investigating after one person has died and at least dozens more have been sickened due toTen of those people have been hospitalized, as a result of the outbreak, including a child. Most of the illnesses are located in Colorado and Nebraska.

The onions are primarily used on Quarter Pounder hamburgers and not other McDonald’s menu items, the CDC said. Symptoms of E.coli usually include cramps, diarrhea , and vomiting. The symptoms usually begin 3 to 4 days after being infected.
