On Tuesday, students from the San Antonio Independent School District and Edgewood Independent School District gathered at San Antonio's Majestic Theatre as part of the San Antonio Book Festival's Authors in Schools Program. Author and cartoonist Lincoln Pierce, creator of Big Nate and Max & the Midknights, gave a presentation on his books, and showed guests a live drawing demonstration, bringing his characters to life.

Pierce's Big Nate series appears in over 400 newspapers across the world and has been adapted into an award-winning book series for young readers, selling over 20 million copies. The San Antonio Book Festival's Authors in Schools Program partners with SAISD and Edgewood ISD and aims to connect award-winning authors with underserved schools, sparking a passion for reading and inspiring a new generation of authors and artists.
