'Waffles dipped in Belgian chocolate, and topped with fresh strawberries and ice cream.'It's kind of become like a family neighborhood tradition,' manager Henny Dekel said. 'So, Encino has just always been so good to us, and we hope we're good to them, also.'
And More Than Waffles delivers on its promise, with plenty on the menu, including breakfast scrambles and skillets, and big plates of potatoes and chilaquiles.
She and her husband, Greg, later purchased More Than Waffles, and are thrilled to be recognized by a customer for this week's Community Eats.
Dekel, Taft's daughter, said she knows people in their community have tons of options, and is grateful for decades of support. 'It's nice to know that people still like what we do here and what we offer,' Dekel said. 'It is not just the food, it also the service and the atmosphere, and it's nice to know people appreciate it.'
The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., seven days a week.
