The complaint names Davis as a defendant, alongside up to 100 unidentified individuals – referred to as John Does – who are alleged to have participated in the planning, financing, or execution of the conspiracy to murder Tupac Shakur. This broad naming of potential defendants signals a belief that the killing was far more complex than previously understood, extending beyond the immediate individuals present at the scene. On September 7, 1996, Tupac Shakur was riding in a BMW near the MGM Grand Hotel and Caesars Palace in Las Vegas when a white Cadillac pulled alongside and unleashed a barrage of gunfire. The rapper was struck four times, ultimately succumbing to his injuries days later. The investigation that followed spanned decades, involving numerous law enforcement agencies and fueling countless conspiracy theories centered around gang rivalries and the competitive nature of the music industry.
Many involved have since passed away, and identifying others proved incredibly difficult, leaving a lingering sense of injustice.
